The objectives of the activity of CSSS are:

 

·        to take care of the development of soil sciences and their relations to other scientific disciplines

 

·        to support practical exploitation of soil science in agriculture, forestry, engineering, landscape planning and environmental protection

 

·        to contribute to objective processing of soil information for important decisions of respective officials and institutions in the field of soil evaluation and management, soil exploitation and EIA

 

·        to inform public on the quality of soils, their importance as a natural soil resource and their functions in landscape, in the environment and for global ecosystem

 

·        to contribute to specific education in soil science and its applications on respective universities
